Ion imprinted polymer is a new polymer having a memory effect, which is similarto molecularly imprinted polymer, and has also predictive structure, specificrecognition and broad applicability, etc.. After polymerization, metal ion instead ofmolecules is recognized. It consists of having a simple synthetic route, lowconsumption cost, stable preserved, selective adsorption, etc. Therefore, there is awide range of applications, especially in the determination of toxic heavy metals inthe environment and the sensor identification and other aspects. Such as lead, nickel, etc., are accumulated in the body, other organisms and caused great harm. Thus, itsanalysis and detection of trace heavy metals has certain practical significance andapplication value. Through access to large amounts of information in foreignlanguages, our group synthesized a type of novel adsorbent material-ion imprintedpolymer and studied three materials harmful heavy metals lead, nickel, copperseparation and enrichment, combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry.Thereby, a new method which a highly efficient and high sensitivity and highselectivity to detect trace amounts of harmful heavy metals analyzes was established. The main contents and results are as follows:1. the content for detecting of harmful heavy metals have been summarized indetail, and the kinds of adsorption material in analysis determination and the methodof separation/preconcentration were described in brief. Mainly, properties, thepreparation method and application prospects of a new type of ion imprinted polymeradsorbent material were introduced in detail.2. A novel ion imprinted polymer was prepared using copolymer technology. Theadsorption properties of trace ions on ion imprinted polymer was studied under staticconditions by using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The adsorption capacityand the best acidity of trace lead ions on ion imprinted polymer were studied. Themethod has been applied to determination of lead ions standard ore, and the actual oresamples with satisfactory results. It proved that this method have the features ofsensitive, simple, accurate and quick.3. Adsorption property of ion imprinted polymer for trace nickel in environmentwater under dynamic conditions was investigated using FAAS. In optimum conditions, the separation and determination of trace nickel were achieved. The method detection limit of nickel was0.26ng/mL, linear regression equationA=0.0652·C(μg/mL)+0.0054, RSD=1.91%. The method was successfully applied tothe determination of lead ions in tap water, well water and river water, the recoveriesbetween95.5%~103.5%with satisfactory results.4. A micro PTEE column packed with prepared ion imprinted polymer had beendeveloped for on-line separation and preconcentration trace of copper by flameatomic absorption spectrometry. The optimal conditions of detecting on ion imprintedpolymer for copper ions were investigated. Finally, the proposed method was appliedin the determination of trace copper in different brands of cigarettes.
