Ionic liquid was consisted of organic positive ions and inorganic or organicnegative ions. It is liquid at the room temperature. Many important organic synthesisreactions, such as alkylation, polymerization, oxidation-reduction reaction, acylation, esterification, etc. can be performed in an ionic liquid medium, avoids the use oftoxic solvents and catalysts other. The esterification reaction is an acid-catalyzed reaction.Sulfuric acid-catalyzedesterification directly was used widely, but the high cost of production, theequipment was eroded by sulfuric acid, easy charring, side reactions and sulfurdioxide pollution to the environment. In recent years, Scientific researchers also usedacidic cation exchange resins, zeolites, heteropolyacids and solid super acid toinstead of concentrated sulfuric acid, but these catalysts have manyshortcoming, such as catalytic activity declined faster, lower catalytic efficiency, highcost, product separation difficult, more complex post-processing. In order tooptimize the synthesis method and solve environmental and economic problems, catalytic chemists tried to proceed esterification reactions in ionic liquids.N, N-dimethyl aniline hydrochloride ionic liquids contrast with concentratedsulfuric acid and anhydrous aluminum chloride catalyst as catalysts for synthesis ofbutyl acetate. In order to study the catalytic activity and catalytic efficiency, n-butylacetate were synthesized by the two material: acetic acid and n-butanol,aceticanhydride and and n-butanol in the role down three catalysts. It was researchedthat the circulation catalytic effect of the ionic liquid in the presence of anhydrousaluminum chloride, and the best under certain usage conditions of ionic liquids andanhydrous aluminum chloride.
