High molecular weight polyethylene is kind of very excellent performance polymer material, and as one of the world three major high-tech fibers, which has the prospects for widespread application. Nowadays, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has been used in the textile, paper, food, chemical, aerospace, construction, automotive, and military and so on. And there is no doubt that ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene in many fields will play an increasingly important role, with the advances in technology.This paper based on the practical application to study and explore the adhesive performances of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and metal samples. And obtain some relevant conclusions. Generally speaking, the main work of this paper is as following:1. Compared the samples of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and metal which using different adhesives, and test peel strength, tensile shear strength and non-uniform pulling strength getting a group of the highest adhesive strength sample and the best overall performance adhesive as well.2. Compared the tensile shear strength of the UHMWPE and metal samples using different methods of surface treatment, and obtained the best surface treatment methods. 3. Analyzed the affecting factors of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and metal adhesive properties, which include temperature, load rate, layer thickness, curing conditions, surface treatment duration, treatment, and the ratio of liquid adhesive structure. And obtain the most appropriate scope and the most reasonable condition through analysis of these factors.At present, there is no targeted research on the adhesive of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and metal. This paper will provide the experience and reference for the further study of this subject.
