Recently, Cadmium sulpho-selenide pigment is the only one which can produce bright red color pigment, and there has been an increasing interest on it. But the unstability at the firing temperature has been a huge difficulty to realize its application in ceramic decoration. How to obtain a kind of high temperature resistant bright red pigment has been a major subject of reaserchers on ceramic area.By Sol-Coprecipitaton, which can control the pH value of reactive system strictly. The reaction between suspension of cadmium sulpho-selenide and hybrid sol is to get precursor. All the particles are under nano-level, to speed up the reaction rate and reduce the sintering temperature of zirconium silicate. Then with piecewise heat-up and a certain amout of mineralizer, calcine the precursor in corundum crucible with nested structure. There are a serials of characterization methods such as infrared absorption spectrum, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, for microstructure characterization. The main contents and outcomes are as follows:(1) The ZrSiO4/Cd (SxSe1-x) Inclusion Pigments was prepared by Sol-Coprecipitation method. Under the calcining temperature of1000℃, the XRD resulits showed obvious diffraction peak of zirconium silicate and sulfur cadmium selenide, the best ratio of Zr to Cd is4:3; IR results also verified the existence of zirconium silicate; XPS results showed thar the pigments were well included; The average particle diameter D50is4.15μm.(2) Through the discussion on the factors affecting the production rate of inclusion pigments, we found the main influence factors are calcinations temperature, mineralizer amount and calcined containers. The best preparation conditions:pH equals to6, calcinations temperature is1000℃, mineralizer amount is3%.(3) Through the discussion on the factors affecting the color chromaticity of inclusion pigments, we found the main influence factors are calcinations temperature, the ratio of sulfur and selenium.the ratio of zirconium and silicon, and calcined containers. The best preparation conditions:S:Se=0.85:0.15, Zr:Si=1.2:1, calcining in corundum crucible with nested structure.
