Study On The Preparation Of Magnetic Activated Carbon And Effect Of Fe₃O₄on The Pore Structure Of Activated Carbon

In this work, Chinese fir sawdust is raw material, which is impregnated by ZnCl2for24h and Fe3O4is the magnetic additive. The magnetic activated carbon is prepared under nitrogen atmosphere or under vacuum. Magnetic activated carbons are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR), and physical properties measurement system (PPMS). The BET surface area, pore structure and pore volume are determined by N2adsorption isotherms.Magnetic activated carbons are prepared under nitrogen atmosphere. Effect of activation temperature, Fe3O4content and activation time are investigated. In this study, iodine value is up to926.611mg/g, methylene blue is up to327.508mg/g. The BET surface area of magnetic activated carbon is up to1818.1m2/g, total pore volume reaches up to1.079cm3/g, the mesoporous volume reaches up to0.615cm3/g and the specific susceptibility is2.88×10-6m3/g, under the condictions of activation temperature of500℃, activation time of60min, Fe3O4doeage of10wt%.Magnetic activated carbons are prepared under vacuum condition. Effect of system pressure, activation temperature, Fe3O4content and activation time are investigated. In this study, iodine value is up to840.090mg/g, methylene blue is up to336.840mg/g. The BET surface area of magnetic activated carbon is up to1701.9m2/g, total volume reaches up to0.979cm3/g, the mesoporous volume reaches up to0.698cm3/g and the susceptibility is8.44×10-6m3/g, under the conditions of system pressure of5kPa, Fe3O4doeage of8wt%, activation temperature of450℃, activation time of60min.
