Since COIL (Chemical Oxygen-Iodine Laser) was born in1978, it has been gotten close attention by experts of various countries for a great deal advantages, such as short wavelength, high efficiency, and good performance of optical fiber transmission. It has wide application prospect not only on the national defense, but also in the field of industry, therefore it becomes the hot issue. But at the same time COIL discharges a large amount of corrosive gas, and does damage to the equipment greatly. For instance, iodine, chlorine etc enter its related vacuum system, especially when the iodine crystal and the lubricating oil of pump body mix greasy dirt, it can cause heavy influence to vacuum pump, and shorten the equipment service life. Removing radioactive iodine from waste gas of nuclear power plants, especially its organic forms, is an important problem in operating nuclear power plants.Iodine element is apt to volatilize, and can cause pollution to its workplace and surrounding environment. Monitoring and managing the pollution of stable iodine and radioactive iodine, have been the focus that people have paid close attention to all the time.Based on the domestic and foreign treatment technology on tail gas and device design, the thesis has found an actual process routing, and has finished selecting adsorption material and the experiments on adsorption performance. At last, based on the technical parameter, has completed industrial equipment process and device designing. The main work is follows:1. Selecting adsorbent material and doing the experiments. The absorbent material includes inorganic and activated carbon adsorption materials, and so on. By consulting the domestic and foreign documents, has compared with all kinds of adsorbent performance and done some experiments on their adsorption performance.2. Selecting the active carbon and the experiment method. The activated carbon includes the coconut shell carbon, the oil palm carbon, almond carbon, etc. After the thesis had decided to select the activated carbon as the absorbent to getting rid of iodine from the tail gas, done the fixed amount experiment on methyl iodine removal by using impregnated granular activated carbon, and then do another experiment on removing stable iodine by using granular activated carbon.3. The determination of technological process on tail gas treatment. Direct against the contract requirement and the physics chemical property of different tail gas composition, a feasible process routing of tail gas treatment has been made. 4. The design and calculation of industrialized process and device. According to the craft route to the tail gas treatment, some devices have been designed.The trail gas of COIL has been treated by the craft, the DF of iodine is above1000, and the content of the chlorine gas is below65mg/m2, the result can satisfy the application of the engineering.
