Mining of the open pit, the excavation of the slope stability is widespread,especially to complex rock high steep slope of large-scale open-pit mine. Atpresent, slope instability caused by the landslides has become one of the global topthree natural disasters. To ensure the mine safety production and improveeconomic benefit, investigation on the stability of slope rock mass should be made,not only an important task but also an engineering application value for open-pitmine.As a replace mine of Jiangxi copper corporation, its scope of slope and slopeheight is at the forefront in domestic. The main rock of the mine slope is phyllite,the uniaxial compressive strength is less than25Mpa(Rc<25Mpa). In the processof mining, because of the gravity stress of rock mass, joints and faults belong tothe geological structure, as well as blasting vibration, groundwater and otherfactors, local instability phenomenon has appeared in part of the section of theslope which seriously affect the mining safety.The research object to Nanpingshan slope, through the collection and analysisin the existing results, site engineering geological investigation and analysis wascarried out in research area, based on the partition in the slope stability, the failuremode of the slope potential were identified; through field sampling and laboratoryexperiments, slope rock mass parameters was acquired in the stability calculation,and the parameters were optimized; through the engineering analogy, parametersrelated to the research on slope stability was determined. Aiming at the conditionof rock mass occurrence of slope concrete, typical profiles using discrete elementnumerical simulation and limit equilibrium method was used to analysis the slopefailure mode and stability, and propose the corresponding measure.In this paper, through on the study of stability and prophylactico-therapeuticmeasures on Nanpingshan, important basis was provided for the decision, designand construction of the mining slope instability area, in which has great economicbenefits and social benefits for the sustainable development of mine.
