In order to meet the needs of the development, more and more products withcomplex surface rise in response to the proper time and conditions, and they havebeen widely applied in Mold industry, Construction machinery industry, Autoindustry, Aerospace industry and so on. Therefore, it is very important to developmanufacturing technology. In recent years, with the sustainable development ofMachine Tool Technology and Cutting-tool Engineering, many advanced processingtechnologies have been widely applied in processing workshop. They have made asignificant contribution to national economy through developing the quality ofproducts and productive efficiency and reducing the cost of products. With thefeature of complex groove cavity shape, big changes in cross section and highprecision requirements a special-shaped cavity part’s manufacturing processes isvery difficult. A production workshop takes WEDM to machine its special-shapedcavity, but the productive efficiency is very low and can’t meet the requirements ofthe production schedule. This paper use High speed milling method to replaceWEDM to machine it. This paper adopts a series of cutting tests to researchmachining performance of workpiece material, makes a new machining processaccording to the parts technical requirements and verifies the feasibility of the newprocess. The result of this paper provides instructional Suggestions for productionworkshop.The main content of this thesis:(1) Research of machining performance of workpiece material20Cr2Ni4A,matching performance of Cutting tool and workpiece material20Cr2Ni4A based onthe machining experiments. Obtain the influence of cutting parameters on the millingforce and the empirical formula of plunge milling force. Seek the reasonable cuttingparameters to achieve the best effect of cutting.(2) Study to create three-dimensional model of the special-shaped cavity part byUG and make a new machining process according to the parts technical requirementsand design a set of jig and create a post processor of the system of SIEMENS802Dfor the four axis three linkage machining center and get NC program base onprocessing function of UG.(3) Study to machine the special-shaped cavity part with the four axis threelinkage machining center to verifies the feasibility of the new process and measure geometric dimensioning and surface quality and evaluate process program.
