Polymer based composite materials have the advantages of light weight, highstrength, good temperature resistance, good corrosion resistance, high fatigue andthey are widely used in military field and private economy industry. However,traditional micron filler such as glass fiber exhibit good processing ability butenhance the matrix limitedly in the micron level; while the novel nanofillers such ascarbon nanotubes can strengthen the matrix resin more effectively in the nanometerlevel but they are easy to agglomerate, difficult to disperse and be processed.Therefore, this thesis chooses epoxy resin as polymer matrix, the glass fiber formicron sized fillers and carbon nanotubes as nanofillers. This paper aims to study thepreparation and properties of epoxy/carbon nanotubes/glass fiber micro-nanocomposite material.First, the acidified carbon nanotubes were modified and characterized to reducethe nature agglomeration of carbon nanotubes and achieve good dispersion for thepreparation of epoxy/acidified carbon nanotube/glass micro-nano compositematerials. And then the effects of carbon nanotubes on the curing behavior of epoxyresin were studied and the curing process parameters and processing parameters ofmicro-nano composite material were offered.Second, epoxy/acidified carbon nanotubes/glass micro-nano composite wasprepared by the wet process and the dry process. The mechanical properties of thenano composite evaluation, microstructure and thermal properties changed with thecontent of carbon nanotubes. Found that the mechanical properties two process withthe content of the acidified carbon nanotube increases first, then decreases, theacidified carbon nanotubes to mechanical properties of6wt%optimal. The thermalproperties of composites with carbon nanotube content of acidification increase onetime increases, reaches a maximum in the acidified carbon nanotubes reached10wt%.Finally, from the process, properties of composite materials, the three aspects ofmaterial costs were compared in detail on wet and dry process, that the twoprocesses are feasible, but the mechanical properties of composite materials by wetprocess and the dry process more economical and environmental protection, and the composite has excellent heat resistance. The similar system of polymer based micro/nano composite materials have the comparability.
