In the filed of waste heat recovery, the Kalina Cycle has made a revolutionary progress inenhancing the efficiency of thermo-electric conversion, and its thermo-electric conversionefficiency could improve20%~40%by conventional evaporation and/or low temperaturesteam Rankine cycle. Nowadays, the global warming and environment problems have becomeincreasingly serious, thus promoting and implementation the technology of Kalina Cycle couldremarkably improve the proportion and efficiency of the waste heat recovery of a factory,andit will play an important role in energy conservation and exhaust control, as well asdevelopment of green economy, it could also offer technology support for an enterprise to“banking, sale and/or trading” of CO2. Nowadays, under the situation of energy shortage, therewould be wide popularization value and application prospect for Klina Cycle in oil refining,metallurgy, steel, cement, coal chemical industry and so on, and this technology would havegreat significance on energy conservation, emissions reduction, development of low carboneconomy and improvement of the energy comprehensive utilization.This paper gives some brief reviews of the utilization status and level of waste heat inindustrial areas in China, by analyzing the use situation of low temperature waste heat inrefining and chemical industry, a comprehensive comparison of the advantages and/ordisadvantages of these waste heat recovery ways was made. Under this background, a methodfor low temperature waste heat recovery that has high thermo-electric conversion efficiencyand wide application prospect——Kalina Cycle power generation technology was proposed.By analyzing the economics index of the60X104tons/year p-xylene plant after theimplementation of the technology, a evaluation of application effect was made for the KalinaCycle power generation technology which based on the ammonia——water mixtures as cyclicworking substance. On the principle of beneficial to daily operation of the Kalina Cycle, thepaper gives some suggestions on parameter set and technics operation, as well as instrumentmaintenance.1,In order to analyze the content of ammonia in the system and avoid leakage loss andenvironmental pollution, periodically test files of ammonia concentration need to beestablished. It is necessary to find reasons when the concentration and content of ammoniahave a larger fluctuation in the system, and should timely replenish ammonia capacity.2, In order to prevent the unit from being damaged when there are some troubles in the lubricating oil system, it is essential to set the low oil pressure alarm and interlock logic.3, Regular inspect and analyze lubricating oil, prevent water, emulsion, andmetamorphism.4,To prevent the cooler from scaling and leading to the drop on the cooling effect, thetechnical index of the cooling water must be strictly controlled,5,If the steam exhaust cooling adopts wet air cooling plate, regular cleaning of wet aircooling spray system and purified water collecting tank is necessary lest sundries deposit andaffect cooling effect.
