TiO2is well known for its excellent photocatalytic property and has great potential insolar energy and environmental pollution. But its own deficiencies seriously hinder itsapplication. In recent years, scientists all over the world have been committed to exploringa variety of preparation methods and modification methods to improve the photocatalyticactivity of TiO2. One of the most effective methods is doping TiO2with other materials forthe synergistic effect to improve the photocatalytic property of TiO2.In this paper, meso-TiO2was modified from the methods of preparation and dopingother materials. Firstly, meso-TiO2was prepared. Then the ternary composite was obtainedthrough doping meso-TiO2with Au nanoparticles and graphene oxide. Compared to TiO2,the photocatalytic property of ternary composites was greatly improved. The main contentsare as follows:(1) Preparation of the catalystsFirstly, mesoporous titanium dioxide with high specific surface area was prepared byhydrothermal method and calcinated to remove the template at hight temperature usinghexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB) as the template agent and tetrabutyltitanate (TBOT) as the inorganic titanium source. Meso-TiO2/Au composite was preparedby deposition-precipitation using meso-TiO2as carrier. The ternary compositephotocatalyst was prepared by mixing meso-TiO2/Au and graphene oxide in hydrothermaltreatment at150℃.The structure of the catalysts was characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, specific surfaceand porosity analysis and XPS. The light absorption properties and the degradation ofmethylene blue of photocatalysts were analysed by UV-Vis DRS and fluorescenceemission spectrum.(2) Photocatalytic activity testThe degradation properties of P25, meso-TiO2, meso-TiO2/Au and RGO/meso-TiO2/Aufor methylene blue was under UV irriadiation. The results show that co-dopimg TiO2withgold nanoparticles and graphene can effectively promote the separation of electron-hole,which can greatly improve the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. After4hours irriadiation,the degradation of methylene blue under RGO/meso-TiO2/Au was close to100%.
