Guanzhong region is located in the middle of Shannxi Province, including cities ofXi`an, Tongchuan, Baoji, Xianyang and Weinan. Its integrative strength is the moststrongly among Chinese northwest, meanwhile, it is the most important agglomerationin guanzhong-tianshui economic zone. Recently, with the implementation of thenational policy-China Western Development, the industrialization and urbanization isdeveloped rapidly, at the same time, the atmospheric environment of Guanzhong hasbecome harsher. This study applying emission factor method and the Bottom-Upapproach, develops a new anthropogenic air pollutant emission inventory in theGuanzhong region for the year of2011.For the convenience of calculation, the pollutant sources are divided into threecategories: energy combustion sources, automobile sources and non-energy combustionarea sources. The energy combustion sources include industrial and living energycombustion emission. The non-energy combustion sources include industrial productionemission, living emission and agricultural emission. The automobile sources includemotor vehicle traffic emission and road dust emission. What`s more, the activity dataused in the inventory is collected by searching statistics data of5cities in2011andemission factors quoted from domestic and overseas research. Air pollutants consideredherein are SO2, NOX, CO, NH3, VOCs, and PM10.The results indicate that the total anthropogenic air pollutant emissions for SO2,NOX, CO, NH3, VOCs, PM10are431.238×103t,470.723×103t,1799.014×103t,378.120×103t,360.589×103t,334.960×103t, respectively. In addition, Weinan andTongchuan are major sources for the six pollutants for each city. Specifically, energy combustion sources such as industrial emission creates emissions of SO2, NOX,and CO,and the motor vehicle traffic emission mainly creates VOCs; agricultural source such asapplication of fertilizers is the main emission source for NH3, and road dust emission isthe main emission source of PM10.In order to verify the accuracy of this emission inventory, the results of emissioninventory is compared with more emission inventory at home and abroad. Thecomparison shows that except for NOXand NH3, the results of this study are closely toothers. The main uncertainties source for this emission inventory comes from twoaspects--the lack of local emission factor and the incompletion of activity data.Finally, there are two main suggestions based on researching: establish a completeemission factor database which is applicable to China, and improve the emission sourceinformation.
