With the continuous development of modern mine, making the size of the roadwaymore larger, the increasing of a large section of roadway adds to the difficulty ofsupporting roadway. Especially when the mine is in soft broken rock conditions, the largecross section roadway problem becomes more difficult and roof falling, slabbing andbottom drums and other issues continue to emerge, making the coal mine production cannot be safe and efficient, a large section roadway broken roof rock of insufficientsupporting technology has been barriers currently impeding stepping further to the highproductionandefficiency coalminedevelopment.In this paper, viewing a Shanxi Lu’an Coal Mining Group Co., Ltd. Luning5101return air trough roadway problem as engineering background, on the basis of fullinvestigation on the project site for the production of this mine occurring among a largesection of roadway support issues, FLAC3D numerical simulation technology for mineroadway scientific analysis system is proposed to optimize the best solutions, combiningindustry practice by the underground pressure, coal and rock parameters, roof separation ofdata collection and processing and other uses for the support technology makingimprovementsinordertoachieveoptimum supportingeffect.We can know form the actual observations of5101return air trough the site thatalthough the existing support enable to support coal roadway, roof separation is too largeto bring a great deal of distress on roadway support and safety quick driving. Under thepremise to ensure the overall stability of the roadway, we need to adjust the anchorarrangement, then put forward two different support for this issue. The final supportscheme can be determined by contrasting various programs of variations on surroundingrock displacement, surrounding rock stress, anchor and anchor supporting structuredeformation, plastic zones,etc. by using numerical simulation, combined with the actualsituation. Tests show anchor, anchor cable and anchor network integration of rock bearingcontrolplay verygood results.By optimizing the design of a coal5101return air roadway, and improving itsdesign, not only improves the driving speed of5101return air trough, but also has greatsignificance on the realization of coal mine safety production. Research of big section coal roadway conditions under the law of deformation and failure of key technologies androadway support, both can provide important theoretical and technical reference for theclass in big section coal roadway under the roadway conditions, but also produce practicalvalueonthedevelopment oflargesection roadway technologyin ourcountry.
