The industry of machine tool is the basis of mechanical manufacturing, and itslevel determines the latter one’s. In order to improve the performances of mechanicalsystems and product qualities, the critical part is to scale the machine tool dynamicand static performances. Glass edge grinding machine is the key of automotive glassprocessing equipment, which directly affects the performance of the car.In order to improve the precision of the glass edge grinding process andefficiency,this thesis researchs and analyses how to improve the glass edge grindingmachine mechanical strength and rigidity of structure, how to improve its dynamicperformance. According to the theory of glass edge grinding and the characteristics ofedge grinding machine in the automatic production line for pretreatment of glass, thetechniques and methodologies of Modeling, analysis and optimization are studied.Firstly, from the research of the cutting with a simplified single abrasive particle,the theoretical model of the normal grinding force and the tangential grinding forceduring glass edge grinding machine in three phases are proposed. Simulation iscompleted with Matlab, and the simulation curves of the grinding force are performed.The simulation results of the glass edge grinding machine system during the workingwill make for the force load in the ANSYS.The model of the glass grinding machine is carried out with Pro/E, and the finiteelement model is constructed. After the load and boundary conditions are defined,The total deformation and equivalent stress distribution are obtained. Through themodal analysis,the first six order fr equency and vibration shape are found,Whichhelp to research the dynamic performance and explore the critical speed. They pointout the direction how to improve the machining precision and efficiency of glass edgegrinding machine.Finally, according to the result of mechanical performance analysis and modalanalysis, the lord structure optimization model of the glass edge grinding machine isestablished. The cross section size of the glass edge grinding machine lord framestructure are used as design variables and the total deformation is regard asoptimization goal. The geometry mass, maximum stress and low frequency are taken as constraint conditions. Sensitivity analysis of parameters has been clear about thepriority of each input and output parameters. The glass edge grinding machine lordframe structure is optimal designed with Design Exploration module in ANSYSWorkbench.Based on the glass edge grinding machine which is the key equipment ofautomatic production line for glass pretreatment,the research work includes the lordframe structure mechanics characteristics, entity modeling, finite element analysisand optimization design, etc. This thesis researchs and analyses are derived from theengineering practice, having a specific engineering application value.
