Bra is indispensable under wear for modern women and a necessity to showfemale charm. Fixed bra not only bears the weight of the breast and keeps the breastnot swing with the movement of the body, it can also correct breast’s asymmetry,sagging and enlargement. However, with the popularity of steel ring bra, bra addscharm to women while causing discomfort to female bodies at the same time. Manypeople wearing bras would produce the steel ring trench and cause symptoms such aschest tightness, chest pain, and even leading to the emergence of the mammary glanddisease and breast cancer. A lot of research has shown that long-term wearing hardsteel ring bra is one of the risk factors to induce mammary gland disease. Numerousdata suggest that patients with mammary cancer in China increased by38.5%inrecent years. Through visit customers in lingerie store, the most frequently symptomswere found are chest distress and chest pain. This is because the vertex of the steelring is prolonged pressure on the chest. And the fat layer in the chest is too thin tobuffer the prolonged pressure. This leads to the chest static load fatigue, producesstrain and causes the occurrence of uncomfortable symptoms. Using anatomy andergonomics to analyze the reason for causing adverse symptoms, it is found that thesteel ring is an important factor of the damage. If removing the steel ring, it cansignificantly reduce the bra harm to health.Although the steel ring bra obviously harmful to health, women’s pursuit ofbeauty will not stop. Therefore, non-steel ring bra will be generally accepted onlywhen its shaping effect is not affected. Based on this, a steel ring bra was choosed asexperimental bra. According to the purpose of experiment,56subjects were measuredand the data were collected and statistical analyzed by using SPSS software.Then analyze the feasibility of non-steel ring bra by comparing shaping effect of theexperimental bra in two cases (with steel ring and remove the steel ring) according tothe results of statistical analysis.Firstly, pressure test experiment was done for the35subjects and the SPSSsoftware was used to do statistical analysis of data. According to the pressuredifference in the pressure test points, pressure differential line charts were produced.Between two pressure tests, steel ring is the only variable. The pressure test pointswere choosed along the steel ring, so the pressure difference to some extent represent the pressure of each position of the steel ring to the breast. Then, according to theresult of the pressure test, non-steel ring bras with different style and pattern weredesigned. Three rims bras were designed altogether, through repeated try-on tomodify and make completely fitting version, and then, cotton and spandex blendmaterials was used to make these three samples. Through measurement experiment,these three samples’ shaping effect were contrasted. Eliminating the worst two brasand the best one was choosed. After that, the selected bra material and productionprocess were improved and made again. The comfort of the bra and wearing effectwas evaluated. Results show that this bra is comfortable and can achieve the sameshaping effect as steel ring bra. It is not only satisfying women’s requirement ofshaping effect, but also avoiding harm to women’s health.
