The application of thin plate glass is becoming more and more widely, mostcommon in our daily life, video products such as smartphones, tablets, which has beenexperiencing an explosive growth in recent years. More and more people are enjoyingentertaining, portability from the products. At the same time, the security andreliability of the video products have become more and more important. Glass isbrittle material; in the event of accidents it may bring an immeasurable consequence.The equipment manufacturer is bound to put the product safety on the most importantposition.To improve the strength of the glass, the main method is toughened glass. Peopletempered the glass by the physical and chemical way.For the ultra-thin glass and highflatness requirement areas, chemical tempering is a better choice. Chemical temperingis also called the ion exchange method, its basic principle is through the largerdiameter alkali metal ions in the salt bath exchanging with the smaller alkaline metalion on the glass surface, due to the glass surface is filed by larger diameter ion, theglass surface will form a compressive stress which parallel to the glass surface. Whenthe external force wants to destroy the glass surface, it have to offset this layer surfacecompressive stress.So the larger compressive stress the glass have, the highercompressive strength and the flexural performance. However if you want to know thesize of the compressive stress, we have to measure them by the equipment.In this dissertation, the principle of glass stress measurement is firstly elaborates,and he advantages and disadvantages of various measurement methods are discussed t.then we put emphasis up on FSM series stress measuring instrument, including thestructure, calculation method, etc. This topic based on FSM accurate measurement ofthe measuring device, after repeated verification and data analysis, we got therelationship among CS、DOL、ion exchange time and temperature. And the newgeneration of Corning Gorilla glass was successful applied to production.theestablished goals werefinally achieved.
