The Study On Analyzing The Toxic And Harmful Substances In The Nail Polish

On commercial and production, the contents of toxic and hazardous chemicals innail polish sample were measured and analyzed in order to optimize and amendnational standards nail polish.At present, only detection method for maldehyde was stated in the nailpolish standards. It is difficult to constrain the quality of the nail polish products,which contain much more toxic and harmful substances.There have been few studieson analyzing the phthalic acid esters and halogenated hydrocarbons especially in thenail polish.According to the production process and raw materials, nail polish maycontain many kinds of toxic and hazardous substances. Heavy metals were detected by atomic absorption spectrometry.Atpresent, the analytic methods and the concentration limitations of the toxic and harmful substances were not described clearly in the nail polish standard. In thispaper, some simple and convenient methods were established for analyzing the toxicand harmful substances, which may involve in the nail polish. The analyzing methodsare the basis for detectiong the chemicals and specifying the the standard of nailpolish.
