Delayed coking is the most advanced refinery coke method and has become the industrialtechnology. The principle is like this: the fecal oil drills through the furnace pipes of highvelocity, then be heated to the temperature between495degree and505degree. After flowinginto the cokery, it stays enough time to undertake thermal cracking and condensation reaction.This production process has realized the continuous and strong process ability. Operated laborintensity and health condition have also greatly improved. What is more, it can satisfy theneed of industrial used coke.In recent years, the deeply processing process of the heavy oil has become the majormethod to improve economic efficiency in lots of big oil refineries. Using advanced controltechnology is a good plan in small investment of improving economic efficiency rapidlybased on existing process equipment.Advanced process control is predictive control based on model and restrains the impactof various interference parameters. Advanced process control reduces the fluctuations ofmainly operating variable in device and optimizes control goal on this basis. Ultimately thefinal goal is come up to improve economic efficiency of device. Under the condition of goodconventional control means, advanced process control can use the coupling relationshipamongst variables, synthesize various regulatory measures, reduce standard deviation of eachcontrolled target, realize smooth operation, then completes the card edge control. Theapplication of advanced process control technology in oil refining and petrochemicalindustries makes petrochemical enterprise to obtain remarkable economic benefit. The NO.2delayed coking unit of Guangzhou petrochemical corporation adopts DMCplus control systemof American AspenTech company. The application of advanced control in the device alsoachieves successful and obtains significant effect.This article introduce how to design and execute the project that the NO.2delayedcoking unit adopts DMCplus control system of American AspenTech company.First of all,the article simple introduce condition of the NO.2delayed coking unit and DMCplusadvanced control system. Based on the produce process of delayed coking unit, analysis thetechnologic feature, then, confirm the design of advanced controller. Secondary, the articleput forward the opinion about system integration between DMCplus advanced control systemand DCS, and recommends the implementation strategy. Finally, the article share theexperience in use of advanced control system and main points of system maintain.
