Radial multi-branch drilling technology is a new well stimulation and augmentedinjection technology. It uses high pressure water jet to break rock and carry rock debris, it candrill by given direction in target layer, and build channels between layer and wellbore, so theflow resistance of the near wellbore area can be reduced, and increase the oil spill area orwater injection profile. This technology can not only increase the formation flow capacityeffectively, and can be targeted to use the stratigraphic remaining oil reserves, and achieve thepurpose of enhanced oil recovery. In this paper, it investigated the technology in theapplication of domestic and international oil wells and wells and take different lithologies andwells into consideration. By the analysis of5wells in Petroleum Development Center, itidentified the main factors that affect the technology effect. Using numerical analysis method, equivalent flow resistance, the mirror reflects and other principle of mathematical analysismethods deduced the production capacity formula of this echnology. According to theformula, it quantitatively analyzed the major influencing factors. The results showed thatpermeability, the length and number of holes have significantly affect, while the radius ofholes and the thickness of layer are not significantly. By the above study, it gave a new idea toput this technology use into three-dimensional group of injection, and got the productivityformula, it can got the best cloth hole. These provide practical experience and theoreticalbasis for the promotion and application of radial multi-branch drilling technology.
