Combustible liquid-air mixture concentration measurement is the main content of theresearch on explosive and fuel, and it is important for industrial production safety and FAEweapons development. The concentration calibration is an essential part in themeasurement of combustible liquid-air mixture, it plays a very important role in the workof the entire measurement, and whether it accurate or not will directly affect the reliabilityof the measurement results. This paper established calibration method of combustibleliquid-air mixture concentration test system based on the basic principles of opticaltransmission method to measure the concentration, and carried out calibration appliedresearch on the liquid fuels which has practical significance. This paper designed a container to play the same role of the sample cell in thecalibration experiment, it was a20L sphere transparent tank made of Plexiglas for carryingcombustible liquid-air mixture formed from spray atomization system, and it was called thecalibration carrier in this paper. This paper identified six experiment test optical paths, which passed through the center of the calibration vector, and covered the calibration vectorin three-dimensional space uniformly. As experimental light sources,532nm laser lightswere placed at the incident side of six experiment test optical paths, the light emitted by thelaser pass through the calibration carrier along the test optical path and received by the lightsensor at the exit end of the test optical path, and it was conversed by the data acquisitionsoftware finally. This paper proposed a criterion of whether combustible liquid-air mixtureconcentration was relatively uniform--when the relative error of the received light intensityvalue less than10%at the same period in calibration experiment, then we considered thecombustible liquid-air mixture concentration in a relatively homogeneous state. Finally, thispaper selected the least squares method to fit the calibration experimental results. In this paper, we applied the calibration method for combustible liquid-air mixtureconcentration test system on six representative liquid fuels to satisfied industrial safety andFAE weapons require. The six fuels included ether, propylene oxide, n-pentane, n-octane,92#gasoline and0#diesel oil. This paper got the concentration calibration results of thesesix fuels-air mixture by experiment--the relationships between the combustible liquid-airmixture concentration (x) and the light intensity value (y), and got the conclusion that theirfitting regression coefficients were0.99, relative errors were under6%by calculation. The results of this study can be used as basic applications of the combustible liquid-air mixture concentration test system. The research and application of concentrationmeasurement will play a supporting role in safety of industrial production and the advancedFAE weapons researches.
