The waste sawdust of wood processing factory was chosen as the raw material ofthis study to prepare the sawdust charcoal. In order to improve the utilization rate ofwaste sawdust and achieve the secondary use of waste, using waste to treat waste, weexplored the diversity of activated carbon raw material source and selected themicrowave heating method of coking to reduce energy consumption.Through single factor experiment, choosing specific surface area and pore sizedistribution as the main means of characterization, we studied the effect of the type ofactivator, the radio of the quality of impregnation, the activation time and microwavepower on the specific surface area of the activated carbon. Results showed that whenthe zinc chloride was activator, the radio of the quality of impregnation was2:4,activation time was8min, microwave power was350W, we got the largest specificsurface area of activated carbon, which was1876.4m2/g. Orthogonal experiment wasdesigned to investigate the influence of the microwave power, activation time and theratio of the quality of impregnation on the specific surface area of activated carbon.Results showed that the influences degree of preparation conditions on the propertiesof activated carbon was in the order: microwave power> activation time> radio of thequality of impregnation.The characterization of the distribution of the activated carbon pore size showed that the homemade sawdust activated carbon had abundant of micro porous structure, the macrospore was also account for a considerable proportion, porestructure was clearly visible, the activation energy of sawdust was reduced after zinc chloride activation. There were both physical adsorption and chemical ads orption in the process of adsorption when the simulation gas contained O2andH2O.Experiments were carried out under different conditions by changing theconcentration of SO2entrance, the filling height of adsorbent, the gas velocity to investthe SO2adsorption performance of sawdust activated carbon. Results showed:saturated adsorption amount of SO2of sawdust activated carbon decreased with theincrease of the concentration of SO2at the entrance; With the increase of filling heightof adsorbent active carbon, the saturated adsorption quantity increased; With theincrease of gas velocity, the saturated adsorption quantity of the active carbondecreased; With the increase of temperature in the adsorption bed, the saturatedadsorption quantity of the active carbon showed a trend of first increase then decrease.
