With increasing international attention to the global warming, the European Parliamentand the European Commission adopted a new bill that international aviation industry isincorporated into EU greenhouse gas emissions trading system, and decided to implementcarbon emissions trading, which directly affecting the airlines’ operational costs. And becauseof tight airspace resources, the traditional mode of operation often results in arriving aircraftcircling the air for waiting, which increasing the carbon emissions of aircraft. And now therapid development of new navigational technology, especially PBN technology, CDAtechnology and4D trajectory prediction technology, makes it possible to implementoperational method based on new navigational technology. Therefore, this paper analyzes thecharacteristics of the new navigation technology systematically. Then it focuses on the role inreducing carbon emissions for approach procedure models and conflict process models basedon the new navigation technology.Firstly, it summarizes development status of the new navigation technology, mainly forPBN technology, CDA technology and4D trajectory prediction technology. Secondlycharacteristics of PBN technology, CDA technology and4D trajectory prediction technologyare analyzed. Then based on analyzing the characteristics of the new navigation technology, this paper designs aircraft approach procedure model and conflict process model based on thenew navigation technology which can reduce carbon emissions. Finally, according toapproach procedure model based on the new navigation technology, it designs Xiamen GaoqiAirport Runway05approach procedure. And the use of conflict process models based on newnavigation technologies simulates the runway05approach procedures and calculates carbonemissions of aircraft. Aircraft carbon emissions were compared with aircraft implementing thetraditional approach procedures. It proves that the new operational method based on the newnavigation technology can effectively reduce aircraft carbon emissions. |
