In recent years, the traditional textile dyeing patterns in the world is popular again. Thispaper has studied the traditional computer technology imitate traditional dyeing patterns,byanalyzing traditional dyeing patterns’ characteristics, mainly based on fractal theory.Theapplication of Apophysis, Ultra Fractal softwares and Photoshop and other softwares hasimitated traditional dyeing patterns, the simulation patterns and traditional prints characteristicswas extracted,the material library of simulated graphic was initially established.The simulation results shows:(1)The Kaleidoscope function of Ultra Fractal has combined with the pixel, S.F.B.M.I Iformula that can generate simulated tie-dye effect.(2)Extraction of color features of handmade tie-dye pattern, combined with fractal softwarecan be a series of simulation patterns which has hand-dyed tie-dye patterns’ color features.(3)Photoshop, Ultra Fractal,Apophsis7x can imitate batik patterns.Using Photoshopsimulate batik patterns,combined ‘Bingwen’ patterns material with batik patterns. Ultra Fractalsimulate ‘Bingwen’ with good grid pattern and coherence,but not enough rich layers. And thelevel of Apophysis is richer, more varied structure.(4)Using Photoshop can simulate discharge effect, but the colors of pattern was not enoughbright, easily influenced by the background color.Fractal software can not only emulate aconventional discharge printing, it can also emulate the characteristics of a pattern withdischarge printing but the traditional discharge technology is unavailable.(5)Depending on the color and different themes,the material was inported and processed forpattern creation,the easy of operation and flexible method.
