| 1,2-propylene glycol is one of the most important organic chemicals, and it iswidely used in food, medicine, industrial production etc. In this thesis that1,2-propylene glycol meeting the standard of industrial grade remove odors to purify1,2-propylene glycol meeting the standard of pharmaceutical grade was studied. Thedifference between1,2-propylene glycol meeting the standard of industrial grade and1,2-propylene glycol meeting the standard of pharmaceutical grade reflected in thecolor of solution, purity, moisture, thermal stability, odors. In this thesis, the purity of1,2-propylene glycol meeting the standard of industrial grade is greater than99.98%,hundreds of impurity components in PPM bring certain difficulty for analysis anddesign to remove odors.The1,2-propylene glycol meeting the standard of industrial grade removed odorsand purify by using batch distillation. This thesis determines the composition ofimpurities by application of GC-MS, and they are Methyl alcohol, Dimethyl carbonate,Allyl alcohol, Proprylene glycol monomethyl ether, Butane-2,3-diol and Dipropyleneglycol. The main impurity components by analyzing data from experiment that can beresponsible for the reason of the odors are obtained as follows: Methyl alcohol,Dimethyl carbonate, Allyl alcohol and Proprylene glycol monomethyl ether. Removingthe main light components by batch distillation could achieve the purpose of removingthe odors and purifying1,2-propylene glycol to meet the standard of pharmaceuticalgrade by using batch distillation.This thesis also summarizes the current application of batch distillation towersand methods of oprations. To remove the odors and purify1,2-propylene glycol tomeet the standard of pharmaceutical grade, we choose a kind of improved traditionalbatch distillation with a holdup collector. We adopt an advanced dynamic accumulativetotal reflux circulation operation design, and complete the calculation of main parthydraulics parameters of tower. This thesis provide practical and economy methods forDMC manufacturers to remove the odors and purify1,2-propylene glycol meeting thestandard of pharmaceutical grade. |
