In the mechanical processing, cooling performance quality processing quality is good or bad has a key role. Gundrill drilling due to its own processing length to diameter ratio, semi-enclosed characteristics, cooling pressure often can not reach the requirements. To solve this problem, the traditional method is usually increase supply pressure or replace high power pump. This paper in reference to a large number of research, optimization gundrill geometry parameters to improve the processing zone cooling performance has been proposed. Test data show, optimization of gundrill geometric parameter improve gundrill circumferential direction cooling pressure is more advantage than traditional methods, this is one of the results of this papper and it is also the research meaning.Use of unique test measuring device, directly got the bottom clearance of gundrill the circumferential direction of the pressure distribution data and established a single cylinder cooling hole gun drill model and double cylinder cooling hole gun drill model. Through the data chart processs, obtained the shoulder dub-off of gundrill nominal flank angle on the cooling effect of the pressure distribution law and give to the reasonable explanation. In further wear test and torque test study, got the best shoulder dub-off of gundrill nominal flank angle parameter and introduces the concept of impact pressure loss established the coolant flow model of the bottom clearance. In the wear test flank of gundrill tool surface wear reason explanation, this paper first puts forward "pressure imbalance degree" this concept and as a future gundrill design must consider one of the influencing factors.This paper contributes to the actual production, the application of best shoulder dub-off of gundrill nominal flank angle parameters, in Shanghai some automobile fittings factory, in the actual production of the drilling quality not drop, the life of gundrill improved from7to9hours.
