As an important part of rolling stock of vehicle, the assembly intensity of wheel-axle depends on interference. Choose a reasonable shaft size in assembling process could ensure the operation of the vehicle safe and reduce the cost of the railway freight transportation.Therefore the reasonable assembly of axle has always been the focus of the railway industry over the world. This paper analyzed and evaluated wheel set press of HXD3C、 HXD3B of D company with assembly knowledge of axle, then found that there were some shortcomings in the process of choosing matched axle.When company D adopted wheel set press, the choose of wheel and axle depended on works’ experience to match.This could lead to meeting the requirement of axle press, but the same wheels and wheel seats may not be able to fully meet the assembly requirements, namely, the surplus of wheels and wheel seats appeared. This paper established a optimization model about the least surplus of wheel under certain conditions, combined stereoscopic warehouse advantage, the I/O principle, processed axle database further to ensure intelligent pressing line of axle and achieve intelligent assembly. The main contents of this paper lay out as follow.First, this paper expounded the development of bogie which taked axle as the core, searched a method of stereoscopic warehouse rated design process and guaranteeing the axle assembly precision, and summarized the axle assembly method and the factors to consider when assembling;Second, aiming to assembly process of current wheel set of D firm, this paper analyzes the problem of current method and puts forward some proposals about it, then establishes the optimization model about the least surplus of axle and analyzes the model with an example in the premise of satisfying the assembly interference.The last, according to the requirement of axle storage warehouse and I/O principle of stereoscopic warehouse, this paper establishes the Intelligent assembly matching system of the axle, comes up with automatic measurement of wheel, axle size, processes wheel and axle database, made the assembly logic diagram of wheel set and analyzed the wheel set database based on annex A and annex B to get the final assemble result of wheel and axle and the distribution map of assemble interference and axle interference.
