In the continuous casting production process, Crystallizer is one of the core equipment of continuous casters. The working conditions of crystallizer of slab played a direct and important role in casting surface quality and production efficiency.Combining with the production practice, this paper choose the cooling water system from the influences on the working conditions of Crystallizer to study. From the influence on surface quality of the slab, we analyzed the cooling water temperature control system. In view of the traditional PID showed deficiencies and limitations in temperature control, we used the fuzzy control theory and traditional PID combined to improve the effect on temperature control, and with the help of modern industrial control and means of control system to research and implement. In order to guarantee the reliability and accuracy of the control signals, measuring signals and measuring instruments, we carried out research on data filtering and instrument error correction.The key parameter of Mould cooling water system to be controlled is temperature and pressure. This paper focuses on the study of the cooling water temperature control. The system of temperature control links include:steam heat exchanger, cooling tower spray system and cooling tower fan, wherein the heat exchanger and water spray control using PID closed-loop control. The controller used in the control system is S7-400PLC which has strong logic control and calculation functions. The controller can finish every calculation and control works according to the requirement of the cooling water system. The system uses the fuzzy PID to control temperature, filters the collection of field signal, set error table for scene digital instrument and compensate for measurement error. It realized accurate control of the cooling water temperature.
