As one of the most important irreplaceable resources, the total crude oil reserves are depletable and therefore it is very strict on every tache for crude oil exploitation. The combination of storage tank and long distance pipeline is one of the most important way of crude oil storage and transportation.For the characteristics of high wax and easy solidification of the crude oil, we must keep heating crude oil in the course of transmission and storage in order to ensure the safe and smooth transportation of oil in the pipeline or the storage tank. Oil furnace is widely used in the crude oil gathering system in oil industry which is mainly used to heat crude oil, nature gas and well products in order to achieve transportation, settlement, separation, dehydration and initial processing. The temperature control of crude oil storage tank is an important link to the safe production in oil field, how to improve the automatic control levels and efficiency of the control system has high research value and practical value.Crude oil storage tank furnace temperature control system has large inertia, pure-time delay, and slowly time-varying features, these characteristics bring many problems to the heating furnace automatic control. At present, many of the heating furnace control are still using manual adjustment or the traditional PID control method. The control accuracy is low and the control effect is not ideal. In the recent years, the extensive research of furnace temperature control in the world has been made. Especially with the development of computer technology, the temperature control research has made tremendous progress and formed a batch of the commercialization of temperature regulator, such as intelligent fuzzy PID control, adaptive control, neural network control, which have stable performance and ideal control effect, and have the potential appliance on the temperature control system.Based on the detailed analysis of the crude oil storage tank-furnace control system and control requirements, the project designed the temperature control system with subsection PID and realized the crude oil temperature control, with the c8051f series microprocessor of Cygnal Company. For the characteristics of slowly time-varying of the crude oil temperature system and in order to further improve the control precision of the system and control effect, the paper puts forward the intelligent control strategies of heating furnace,which uses genetic algorithm identify the system model parameters and optimizes the PID parameters on-line.The main research works of the paper are as follows:Firstly, the paper makes the deep analysis and introduction of the current situation and development in the world about this kind of heating furnace temperature control system. Secondly, I make a comprehensive introduction of the whole design of oil temperature control system, which includes the design and realization of the hardware and software, and put forward some improvement plans to the practical control in oil field. Finally, I describe the improved control strategy of this system deeply, which uses intelligent PID based on genetic algorithm, and makes the detail simulation in MATLAB. The conclusion of simulation proves the feasibility and availability of the control strategy.
