Blue And White Elements In Modern Fashion Design

The soul and history of a country come from its culture; the precipitation andaccumulation of the culture is a prerequisite for the existence and sustainable developmentof different nations and countries. Traditional culture has a very strong force of edification,which can let a nation be more closely united together. The21st century, which we live inis an age of economic globalization，in the present more and more people attaches greatimportance to the culture, and cultural diversity become the mainstream. Different nationshave diversified national culture, which need us to learn from the perceptual perspective,because it is the source of creation and communication between all nations and races.Cultural communication and creation of all nations can make a significant contribution tothe whole human civilization society; cultural autonomy now is intensifying, so thestruggle for the protection and maintenance of traditional culture has an important meaningfor a nation’s culture under the economic globalization.As we all know, among China’s unique traditional crafts, porcelain is the most famousone, and the cultural tradition of China has a vital influence on the birth and developmentof porcelain, and among all kinds of porcelain, blue and white porcelain is world-wideknown. It is called “the treasure of human” by world friends, and its characteristic isappearing in cyan porcelain white, which looks green and luxuriant. Five thousand years ofChinese culture is extensive and profound, and blue and white culture has become a veryimportant feature in porcelain culture. China’s traditional culture is gradually beingneglected, so the protection and inheritance for the blue and white culture is even morecrucial. Many Chinese designers brought "blue and white language" to various fields;costume design is the carrying forward and inheriting of designers at the psychologicallevel, forming a unique style, which needs all kinds of designers to know and learn.We conducted this research to explore the origin and development of blue and white,in terms of five thousand years’ history of Chinese civilization, blue and white occupies apivotal position in Chinese traditional art; and then to make an in-depth analysis of theexternal form embodied by blue and white element under the influence of traditionalculture, combining with a variety of blue and white patterns, texture pattern, the social reality reflected by the pattern, and to explore how the "blue-and-white elements" in thecontemporary fashion design show the performance of traditional culture, etc. With regardto various aspects in modern costume design field, we analyze, combining with the actualsituation, how modern designers apply the "blue and white elements" flexibly into design,how "blue and white element" presents the traditional culture and plays its characteristics.Finally, through thinking about the influence of "blue and white elements" in the art ofclothing design, we try to find out how to better resolve the excellent national traditionalculture, and let it continues to flourish in modern fashion design under the edification ofaesthetic culture.
