As a precious kind of glaze of ceramic, the under-glaze blue and white can be seen ascombination of simple blue and white porcelain and brilliant under-glaze red. Only underextraordinary circumstance can we realize this unique process into a successful sample, which, has made it promising in both the market and the industry. In this article, the porcelain is made through under-layer combination of blue and redglaze. In order to make this process steady and feasible, it is needed to eliminate the defect ofwork flow and finally to figure the most preferred parameter for every single step of ourprocess as well as the perfect constitution proportion of the raw material. Also,XRD,SEM,TG-DSC、UV/VIS/NIR test is used to help investigate the inner microstructure, the color, thermal property, the accurate composition. It is found that:(1) Plasticity, hardness, pressure resistance can be better when the bodyof the ceramic is made by Jiaojiao Kaolin (30~40%),Yangzo Lake Kaolin(15~20%) as wellas appropriate amount of aedelforsite (1~2%)(.2) The whiteness, transparency, hardness andthermal stability can be finer and the glaze fits better with the body when it is made of thelocal Baihou feldspar,Luojun pulpstone as well as a good amount of aedelforsite and bariumcarbonate mineralizer. To be specific, Baihou feldspar(35%~45%), Jiaojiao Kaolin(20~30%),aedelforsite(1~3%) and the mineralizer (1%).(3)Copper oxide is used as a color former, butnot alone. Followings are also included: the body and transparent glaze material, stannicoxide and ferric oxide, which act as secondary reductive agent, montmorillonite and etc. Allthese make the red color uniform and steady. This former is consisted of75%copper oxide,5%stannic oxide,5%additives and the body material and the glaze is added as2:1(.4)The idealsample can be achieved when we adopt a800degree pre-sintering,12h grinding,5mm colorformer thickness while the transparent glaze is3mm.(5)It takes6h from heating to950degree, during which oxidation is dominant, and8h from950degree to1300,as reductionreaction rules. Then we hold1300degree for2h and cool it down in room temperature(10h).As indicated in this process, the performance of the “blue and red” is perfect.
