Production capacity of the n-butanol and2-ethyl hexanol plant of Jilin Petrochemical Co. reaches240000t/y, using UCC/DAVY low pressure liquid phase circulation carbonyl synthesis technology. By analyzing the actual operation during many years, the plant has showed some questions, such as local unreasonable process, severe demands of raw material and carbonyl synthesis catalyst quality etc.Therefore, take effective measures to solve these problems is an important means to ensure the safety, stability, long period, full load, optimal operation of the plant.In this paper, considering the actual production situation of the n-butanol and2-ethyl hexanol plant of Jilin Petrochemical Co., by analyzing the causes for the process technology, reaction principle, operation conditions and problems, with reference to relevant literatures, it puts forward the technical modification scheme and the reasonable production adjustment measures for some problems, such as low temperature rise of carbonyl synthesis reaction system during start-up, water hammer phenomenon happened on medium pressure steam condensate pipelines, low hydrogen utilization rate, bundle plugging of high and low pressure evaporator waste liquid cooler, affects caused by raw material and catalyst quality to carbonyl synthesis reaction. After implementation, while ensuring the process flow optimization and stable operation, the plant technical and economic indexes are also improved; the competitiveness of products is greatly improved, which laid a solid foundation for the extension of the product life cycle of the enterprise.
