Composite grinding mentioned in this article is to use the wheel to replace the cutter grinding the material on the machining center; this processing has the following characteristics:1.The grinding line is similar to the milling line, could get a better machining surface quality for the complex surfaces processing;2.This form of processing has high processing efficiency and low processing cost.This article was studied under different process conditions of grinding experiment to the titanium alloy TC4With vitrified diamond grinding wheel In TH5650machining center. The grinding force is measured using a Kistler dynamometer and the grinding temperature was measured by sandwiched foil thermocouple under different grinding parameters. Analysis the influence of processing parameters on grinding force and grinding temperature. Have measurement of surface roughness and subsurface damage detection on work piece surface. Analysis the influence of different processing parameters on the surface quality of the work piece’s. Finally achieve the process parameters optimization.(1) Introduces the principle and characteristics of grinding. Analysis of the formation process of grinding debris, equivalent wheel diameter, wheel-workpiece contact length, underformed chip thickness, grinding ratio and other parameters according to the grinding theory. Get the effect of processing parameters on geometry characteristic.(2) Based on the characteristics analysis of grinding, selection of grinding wheel speed, grinding depth and feed rate of the three grinding parameters for orthogonal experiment of three factors, and build the experiment platform.(3) By measuring the grinding forces and grinding temperature of titanium alloy workpiece in the different parameters. Analysis related data of the grinding forces and grinding temperature. Get the effect of the grinding forces and temperature in different processing parameters.(4) Using3D profile measurement measuring the processed titanium alloy. Study the influence and trend of different processing parameters on the grinding surface quality after experiment data processing. Combining with the existing data to determine the optimization results of processing parameters, and use this result processing titanium alloy workpiece. Measuring and analysis of experimental results, the surface quality of optimum processing parameters are obviously improved than before.(5) Using angle polishing method measuring the depth of grinding subsurface damage, observation of the main damage form. Analysis of the microcrack shape and the depth of subsurface damage. Finally, determining the effects of subsurface damage.
