With the development of modern industry and technology improvement, new carbon materials, especially the market demand of the graphite coke increases day by day, but graphitization producing technology can’t meet the requirements, and produces a large number of sulfur, volatile grading pollution gas. In the process of graphite coke production problems of technology, the subject group to develop the new graphitization technology, not only can produce the high quality, low price graphite, but also the focal can achieve the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction.In traditional graphitization equipment, such as Acheson graphitization furnace and Lengthwise graphitization furnace, the cooling mainly through the natural cooling, that is graphite products are placed in the air. It needs a long time, and takes up the larger space. Sometimes in order to speed up the cooling, in graphite products spray cooling water, on this can lead to a graphite products local too cold to crack, and the water will make the graphite products quality decreased.At present main problem is that before into the cooling system graphite is in2600℃and shall not be contact with air, in these conditions, how to cool the graphite quickly is an important question. Therefore need a cooling device that will make high temperature graphitization focal cooling to a definite temperature in the furnace and not oxidation. The effect of cooling will have a direct impact on the quality of the graphite coke.This paper mainly describes the cooling system of continuous electric furnace for graphitization. Firstly is preliminary design to cooling system. And with one water pipe for research object, analyzes the heat transfer process, calculated the age of heat transfer area. Basis on this, built a mathematical model for the cooling system, model mesh is plotted by Gambit. Then fluent simulation software is used for flow and temperature field numerical simulation of cooling system of continuous electric furnace for graphitization.
