The submarine pipeline, as an important part of the production system of offshore oilfield, is an ideal transport means to convey a large quantity of oil and gas continuously. The pipeline internal detection technology is a significant method of fault diagnosis for the submarine pipeline that pipeline internal detector with the function of information collection, processing and storage, is driven by the fluid in pipeline to detect pipeline defects. It’s necessary to determine the position of pipeline internal detector all the time to judge whether the detector has passed special positions when pipeline internal detection technology is applied, especially when the detector gets stuck in the pipeline, it needs to be located timely and precisely, and then corresponding measures should be taken. Therefore, as a key technology of the pipeline internal detection, to solve the problem of tracking and locating the detector in pipeline is particularly important.It is difficult to meet the requirements of real-time tracking and precisely locating the detector with existing pipeline internal detector location technologies. A new method of real-time tracking pipeline internal detector based on pressure wave is proposed in this thesis, which is verified to be feasible according to the simulation with OLGA software. The internal detector is just real-time tracked, when it moves normally in the pipeline; on the other hand, when it gets stuck in the pipeline, the internal detector needs to be precisely located with the tracer of super low frequency electromagnetic wave, combining with the general position that is obtained by means of real-time tracking.Based on the method of real-time tracking and locating pipeline internal detector proposed in this thesis, real-time tracking and locating system is designed which can be applied to offshore pipeline, the offshore depth should not be more than300meters, and the length of pipeline should not be more than50kilometers, in addition, parts of hardware are manufactured and parts of software are exploited. The hardware of the real-time tracking and locating system includes pressure wave generation device, pressure sensor, data acquisition device, correcting time device with GPS, position monitoring platform of pipeline internal detector, super low frequency electromagnetic wave emission device, detecting electromagnetic wave device, host computer of the precisely location. The software of the system includes locating software on pipeline internal detector, software of data acquisition based on Windows CE and correcting time software of GPS, software of position monitoring platform of pipeline internal detector based on LabVIEW, software of detecting electromagnetic wave device, host computer software of the precisely location. Singular point is used to determine the arrival time of pressure wave in pipeline internal detector real-time tracking, which is obtained from wavelet transform of the pressure wave signal; frequency spectrum of electromagnetic wave can be obtained by means of FFT transform to extract amplitude of a specific frequency electromagnetic wave in pipeline internal detector precisely locating. The precision of real-time tracking and locating pipeline internal detector can be improved with data processing methods of wavelet transform and FFT transform.
