With the rapid development of automobile industry in our country, the production of composite brazing aluminium foil used in heat exchanger has been paid more and more attention. However, clad aluminium foil at present is entirely produced by means of hot-rolling cladding, which usually has low bonding strength in the interface, poor comprehensive performances and low productivity so that some requirements for special properties cannot be met easily. In order to obtain high-quality clad foil, clad casting ingots produced by semi-continuous casting technology are developed, which is used to produce4045/3004/4045composite foil.The present work mainly aims at developing technology for clad casting used in the industrial scale. The equipments for clad casting was designed and manufactured. Trail-producing4045/3004/4045clad ingots with industrialized scale was carried out. The technical parameters of homogenization, hot-rolling and cold-rolling were confirmed. Finally, the structures and the mechanical properties of the clad ingots and foil products are correspondingly tested and analyzed.The conclusions are following:(1) With the patent of casting composite invented by Northeastern University, the first piece of aluminum alloy clad ingot in an industrial scale has been successfully produced in our country.(2) The clad ingot produced by semi-continuous casting technology is homogenized before rolling. The establishment of the homogenization temperature and time depends on the different characteristics of alloys to avoid over burning of the alloy with low meilting temperature.(3) The clad ingots produced by semi-continuous casting technology can be rolled with the general rolling parameters.(4) It is proved that the interface of the clad ingot is the metallurgical bonding. Thus the clad foil possesses excellent combination properties, which not only meets the national standard of YS/T446-2002, but also wins out over the usual one by rolling cladding.
