Brittle materials have found an increasingly wide utilization in the fields of aerospace、 Chemicals、national defense based on high hardness、high temperature resistance、 anticorrosive wearable and light quality.For example, developing ferrite magnetic ceramic materials led to computer revolution; With the continuous improvement of processing technologies on high—temperature Ceramic, the traditional domain,such as engine、 petroleum、chemicals and metallurgy, have been poured into the life and vigor; The appearance of new type Die&mould and ceramic cutting tool, also pour vitality into manufacture. It has been a tendency that ceramics will take the place of mental in some critical component of machinery.But the qualities,such as difficult process、inefficiency and high production costs, prevent brittle materials becoming prevalent. So,the study on brittle materials’theory and technology need to be more further.Research work of this study contains some aspects as follows:(2) According to the processing features of brittle materials,the subject will introduce the chip formation、grinding、surface"s formation、grinding forces and surface roughness in processing during grinding. According to the criticality of grinding depth and load when the model of impression produce crack,simulation by the finite element analysis gives the criticality of grinding depth out. At last, by theory calculation, we can get the mathematical model of grinding force and surface roughness when we grind brittle materials.(3) By the finite element simulation, we cam make it clear how different grinding speed、 cutting depth and rake angle influence grinding surface of brittle materials when we simulate the2D cutting model.we can analyses the study by different grinding forces under different parameters. By the three dimensional simulation we can get the single-grain grinding model of brittle materials and plastic material and make a study according to cutting force and grinding surface.(4)Making trial and probes on three different materials (alumina, flourophlogopite, ceramic-glass) under different parameters pass optical projection curve grinding machine and making a contrast on point grinding of lourophlogopite and ceramic-glass. Analysing the changing rule of surface qualityalong with parameters, and the surface quality of point grinding and common grinding by measuring the surface roughness and morphology. On the basis of above, getting better surface and exploring the point grinding’practical application when processing brittle materials.(5) Modeling ductile-regime grinding of brittle materials, and exploring the conditions of ductile-regime grinding under processing based on the processing materials’surface roughness and morphology、plastic flow under the microscope.Concluding the requests that ductile-regime grinding happens.
