In order to control the concentration of ethylene in fruit and vegetable among storage environments, and improve the quality of fruit and vegetable packaging, the paper prepared activated carbon fibers which have the ability of adsorption to ethylene through spinning, curing, carbonization, activation and among preparation the fir wood flour was as raw material and the charcoal powder was as pore-forming agent. The preparation of carbon fiber precursor and activation process of charcoal filled wooden activated carbon fiber was studied. And the structural properties of charcoal filled wooden activated carbon fibers were characterized by using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and pore surface area analyzers. And finally we investigate the effect of adsorption capacity of wooden activated carbon fibers on ethylene by discussing adsorption time, amount of adsorbent, adsorbate concentration. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) By considering the spinning process and the activation conditions to determine the conditions for the preparation of activated carbon fibers:liquid to solid ratio6:1, the amount of1%charcoal, synthetic agent of4%,15%hydrochloric acid concentration, activation temperature800℃, activation time40min, activator (water vapor) volume1Og/min, the maximum amount of adsorption was1124.49mg/g at850℃.(2) Charcoal filled activated carbon fibers have a rough surface and sediments. With increasing of activation temperature, the structure of activated carbon fibers tends to regular ordered, the degree of graphitization and C atoms content increased, O atoms and content of graphite structure C-C decreased gradually on the contrary, C-O, C=O first increases and then decreases, while the charcoal to join the C atoms content has little effect on the specific surface area of activated carbon fibers, the hole area, total pore volume, pore volume appeared in an increasing trend, while the microporous presents first increased and then decreased; comparing with the without charcoal of activated carbon fibers, charcoal filled activated carbon fibers appeared characteristic peaks, and the crystallinity of sample is poor.(3) The degree of deformation and amount of surface porosity charcoal filled activated carbon fibers enhance with the increase of the amount of charcoal, and the macropore and larger macropore was found when the amount of charcoal to a certain extent. The charcoal filled activated carbon fibers retain peaks of charcoal, and with the increase in the amount of charcoal, the peaks are more and more obvious. The d (002) decreases at first and then increases while La, Lc, Lc/d (002) and g value first increases and then decreases, C atom content as a whole increased firstly and then decreased, O atom contrast, C-C, C-O concentrations are decreased first elevated decreasing trend, while the C=O content changes with contrary. With the increase in the amount of charcoal, the specific surface area, the pore area, total pore volume and the pore volume charcoal filled activated carbon fibers present increases firstly while the microporous contrary.(4) The time of adsorption equilibrium when the amount of activated carbon fiber is0.3g and ethylene concentration was200mg/L is4.5hours while the adsorption value is187.197mg/g. Comparing with the different amounts of activated carbon fibers, the best adsorption appear at0.3g. When the ethylene concentration increases, the capacity of saturation adsorption increases, but the adsorption of activated carbon fibers first on ethylene increases and then decreases when the ethylene concentration is150mg/L.
