Aerobic granular sludge has several advantages such as high-efficiency, ambientreaction conditions. It gets attention in dealing with low concentrations of veterinarydrugs. Veterinary drugs are difficult to deal with. The aggregation effect on water andsoil produces different degrees of pollution, and even involves in other material cycle invivo. Treatment of such compounds has become a hot topic in the field of pollutioncontrol. In this paper, flocculent activated sludge was used as the seeding sludge. Byadjusting the selection pressure, aerobic granular sludge was cultivated in the SBR.After realizing granulation, using robenidine hydrochoride as a target pollutant, theaffection of veterinary drugs to aerobic granular sludge was discussed.Combining the life and death of bacteria, oxygen consumption rate and etc, theimpact of veterinary drugs to aerobic granular sludge was investigated. Studying theoperation parameters of the system in a single cycle detailed after the drug was added tothe reactor. Using COD as the research object to understand the impact of robenidinehydrochoride to the biodegradation of aerobic granular sludge. The main conclusionsare as follows:The mature aerobic granular sludge can be cultivated in about40d-50d by usingflocculent activated sludge as the seeding sludge, sucrose as the substrate, regulatingvarious parameters effectively. In dealing with COD, NH4+-N and other processes were inhibited by robenidinehydrochoride in a short-term. The removal rate relative to the pre-removal decreased17%and27%. Under a long-term condition, the system could not adapt to the newenvironment when the robenidine hydrochoride was added. The removal rates of CODand NH4+-N were failure significantly reversed, until the system crashed.Experiments showed that some bacteria can be killed for the case of robenidinehydrochoride. The toxicity of robenidine hydrochoride to aerobic granular sludgeaccumulated with training time.FTIR analysis showed that the major functional groups, which aerobic granularsludge treat robenidine hydrochoride, may be amino, hydroxyl, carboxyl and CH2-ingrease.After the drug was added, the ASM1could be fitted to the experimental data, the parameters wereK IS=10.1mg/L,K I=133mg/L, R2=0.948.
