The "greenhouse effect" caused by the increasing greenhouse gas such as carbon dioxide and etc in the atmosphere is a considerably serious environmental problem at the moment which requires immediate solution. Meanwhile, our country has a large supply of natural gas resources. The core of our research is carbon dioxide reforming of methane to syngas as a reaction provides an effective solution for not only the rational utilization of natural gas resources, but also decreasing emissions of greenhouse gas into the atmosphere. At the same time, because of the strong absorption of reversible process, it can be used for energy transmission system in order to store solar energy and nuclear etc, which becomes the hot pot of current researches. This subject research mainly discusses Ni-based catalysts using the cordierite as carriers, of which the effect in carbon dioxide reforming of methane to syngas, for that the cordierite as the carrier has a good performance of mechanical properties and thermo stability, MgO and beta molecular sieving were compared as carriers in the catalytic reaction. The effect of Ni content, additives La added, calcination temperature, reaction temperature and the ratio of raw material gas were also studied in the research. Catalysts were characterized through the X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermo gravimetric analysis (TG-DTG) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that cordierite as carriers have a good catalytic activity and selectivity, the best Ni content is10%and the best calcination temperature is773K. The optimum reaction temperature is1023K and the best. ratio of raw material gas is CH4/CO2=0.7.This paper also studied the catalytic performance of Ni-Co bi-component catalyst. Ni-Co bi-component catalyst was prepared through adding Co to the Ni/Crd. The catalytic activity was studied through the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and temperature programmed reduction (TPR). The ideal ratio of double metal components was studied comparing with the single metal catalyst active components. The effect of different impregnation orders and preparation method was also studied during the research. The results show that catalytic activity of Ni-Co catalyst is generally higher than that of single metal ones, and the5.0%Ni-5.0%Co/Crd reaches the highest catalytic activity. Co impregnation first and Ni followed method is better than the opposite one. Catalysts prepared using Sol-Gel method are better than the ones prepared of impregnation method.
