Chalcogenides are new type of important inorganic materials with micropores. Chalcogenides are semiconductor and they have some unique properties used for many fields such as photo-physics and photochemical catalysis, so the application prospect of chalcogenides is very broad. In the recent years, hydrothermal and solvothermal technique has been a very important tool for the synthesis of the chalcogenides with transition element or rare-earth metal instead of high temperature solid phase synthesis. In the paper, we use hydrothermal and solvothermal technique for the synthesis of ternary copper chalcogenides and we put indium into the reaction for the synthesis of quaternary copper indium chalcogenides. The cationic in ternary copper chalcogenides is Na+, and the cationic in quaternary copper indium chalcogenides is [(Et)4N]+.We use many methods such as x-ray crystal analysis to analyze the structure and thermostability of ternary copper chalcogenides and quaternary copper indium chalcogenides. In the paper, we introduce the research development access of chalcogenides, many kinds of the synthetic methods of chalcogenides in detail, the influence factor of hydrothermal and solvothermal technique for the synthesis of chalcogenides, and he research development access of indium chalcogenides.Synthesize the compound (1) NaCu5S3by using hydrothermal and solvothermal technique with alkali metal ions Na+. Compound (1) NaCu5S3is crystallizes in hexagonal system and P-6(3) space group. The unit cell parameters are a=6.9682(3)A, b=6.9682(3)A, c=7.2087(6)A,α=90°,β=90°, γ=120°. In the compound, Na and S compose NaS6structure, and the copper ion connect NaS6structure to create3D framework. There are some Na+irons in the micropores of compound. The compound is stable in the water and ethanol.Synthesize the compound (2)[(Et)4N]13[Cu5In3oS54] by using hydrothermal and solvothermal technique with [(Et)4N]2S. Compound (2)[(Et)4N]13[Cu5In30S54] is crystallizes in triclinic system and P-l space group. The unit cell parameters are a=19.472(3)A, b=19.487(4)A, c=37.086(7)A, α=93.546(12)°,β=90.019(11)°,γ=90.121(11)°[(Et)4N]13[Cu5In30S54] is a T5cluster. Indium ions and sulfur ion compose small tetrahedron, and then the small tetrahedron create big small tetrahedron through vertex-shared.There are some [(Et)4N]+in the micropores of compound.
