Sec-butyl acetate (SBAC) is one of the four isomers of butyl acetate, it is transparent colorless liquid at room temperature with a fruit flavor, volatile medium speed, with almost all resin and organic compatibility, a wide range of applications. Except for solvents, spices, medicine, reaction medium composition, extraction agent, cleaning agent components, motor vehicle fuel, paint and so on.Currently, many sets of sec-butyl acetate units have been built, which is50,000t/a or60,000t/a, and the largest unit is100,000. The total output is610,000t/a, the potential market of our country of SBAC is more than2million t/a, coupled with export demand, China’s sec-butyl acetate production can not meet the market demand. Development of sec-butyl acetate has a lot of space, sec-butyl acetate of newly building or expansion projects is an important development direction of chemical companies.In this paper, the use of large chemical simulation software Aspen Plus, using a computer simulation method for process-ton sec-butyl acetate, carried out the whole process simulation. Aspen Plus software simulated use appropriate parameters:I selected stoichiometric reactor Rstoic module simulation,of selective hydrogenation reactor and the esterification reactor, just give fixed conversion rate or extent of reaction, and stoichiometric equations, the reactor can be achieved simulation. Rectification column are used strictly analog RadFrac simulation calculation module, in addition to the physical properties of the hydrogen column Methods UNIQUAC, plate number55, the top plate feed section22, a reflux ratio of8; decarburization four column properties methods UNIQUAC, the number of trays35,20in the first tower feed trays, the reflux ratio is1.0; azeotropic column properties methods UNIQUAC, the number of trays40,21in the first plate tower feed, a reflux ratio of4.0; tower light off method was chosen UNIQUAC, plate number65, in the feed tray25, a reflux ratio of7; off the column was re-selection method UNIQUAC, plate number65block, the first25plates in the overhead feed; acetic acid recovery column properties methods NRTL-RK, plate number15, the first four in the top of the tower feed trays, reflux ratio1.23. Sec-butyl acetate products refined purity of99.95%and arecovery of99.51%acetic acid. Aspen Plus simulation results agree well with the device, indicating that the software can be used to simulate the process of sec-butyl acetate optimized for a later construction, expansion device is designed to provide a theoretical basis.
