China is a large agricultural country. Corn has high yield and the abandoned crop of corn also has a relatively high quantity. But the utilization of abandoned crop of corn is rather low. Corn husk which packs cob has superior mechanical properties. Further research on corn husk, it not only can reduce the pollution of environment which comes from burning, but also solves the energy problem of resource scarcity. It conforms to our country’s sustainable development strategy.If corn husk not conducts degumming process, it will useless and owns low value. Through degumming process, corn husk fiber which we get could use in industry to prepare medium density fiberboard. After flame retardant treatment process, the corn husk fiber can gain greater range of application. This paper mainly have three targets, the first one is to find out a kind of high efficient and environment protection degumming method. The second one is to obtain optimum process of fiberboards’preparation. The third one is to seek an efficient flame retardant method. Thus it can expand corn husk fiber’s utilization range and development of corn husk fibre of surplus value, which has significant research meaning. Degumming process mainly adopted preliminary urine oxygen and alkali cooking. Extraction ratio and residual alkali value as test indexes. The contents of fiber, fiber length, hot pressing temperature and hot pressing time were as physical board’s optimization conditions to prepare fiberboards. This paper discussed fiberboards’tensile strength, bending strength and impact strength. In order to obtain perfect flame retardant effect, ammonium polyphosphate, magnesium hydroxide and pentaerythritol were chose as flame retardant.4A and13X zeolite molecular sieve were act as association effect agent. This paper discussed the formula and their adding contents’ influence to limit oxygen index and mechanical properties. Eventually this paper got fiberboard which had excellent flame retardant effect and perfect mechanical properties.Through the orthogonal experiment, this paper got the conclusion that preliminary urine oxygen optimum process:bath ratio was1:1.5; temperature was30℃; urea concentration was6g/L;hydrogen peroxide concentration was8g/L; time was40min. Corn husk alkali cooking’s optimum process:bath ratio was1:1.5; temperature was100℃; sodium hydroxide concentration was2%; time was30min.On the conditions of flame retardant fiberboard’s fiber content was45%; the proportion of ammonium polyphosphate and pentaerythritol, which as flame retardant was2:1; the additive of flame retardant was10%; Association effect agent for13X; association effect agent’s content was3%. The fiberboard got the best flame retardant effect and mechanic properties. The flame retardant fiberboard’s physical properties as follows:limit oxygen index was35%; bending strength was84MPa; tensile strength was40MPa; impact strength was6.4KJ/m2, it is conforming to the state standards.
