Since the initiative of the green chemistry was put forward, the traditional solvent-basedinks have been gradually replaced by the new kind of water-based ink and UV ink. Althoughthe water-based ink is environmental friendly, used easily, it is slow for the curing process.The speed of UV ink curing process is fast, but its viscosity is too high to operate easily, thenit needs to be diluted by activated monomer. And the new type of water-based UV ink cancomplement the two above-mentioned ink, so it is widely used in the traditional printingindustry and electronic industry. Then the photosensitive resin acted as the major componentto decide the performance of water-based UV ink has been further studied. The photosensitiveresin which is most studied is epoxy acrylate at present.This paper discussed the optimum reaction condition of the five kinds of photosensitiveresin: novolac epoxy acrylate, novolac epoxy methacrylic resin, o-cresol formaldehyde epoxyacrylic resin, o-cresol formaldehyde epoxy methacrylic resin, cycloaliphatic epoxy acrylicresin, and the mechanical properties and thermal properties of product were characterized. Thenovolac epoxy acrylic resin was further reacted to get alkali soluble photosensitive resin andwater soluble photosensitive resin. The optimum reaction condition was studied, then thethermal properties and dispersibility in water of water soluble photosensitive resin wasstudied.Experimental results showed that under the optimum synthesis conditions, the novolacepoxy acrylic resin appeared transparent, had a moderate viscosity, and curing film showedgood thermal performance and excellent mechanical properties; And the toughness of curingfilm of cycloaliphatic epoxy acrylic was better than the novolac epoxy acrylic resin; As theraw material was replaced by methyl acrylate and o-cresol formaldehyde epoxy resin, thethermal properties of product was analyzed, then it was known that the film strength of finalproduct increased, the heat-resisting performance of which declined since the methyl wasintroduced into the system.The o-cresol formaldehyde epoxy acrylic resin and maleic anhydride were further reactedto get alkali soluble resin, then tertiary amine was put into to get the water solublephotosensitive resin. The optimum reaction condition of alkali soluble resin was that the mole ratio of o-cresol formaldehyde epoxy acrylic resin to maleic anhydride was1:0.8, the reactiontemperature was70℃, the catalyst selects to N,N-dimethyl aniline, the amount of which was3%(wt.%) for the reactant lumpy; Triethanolamine was put into the obtained alkali solubleresin to get water soluble photosensitive resin, the suitable neutralization degree was pH=7,the flexibility of light curing was good, and it had a good thermal performance.
