In this paper, Fengtai County of Huainan City of Anhui Province as an example, based on the the local natural geological conditions and environmental status, and with the field survey to collect data, the delimitation of centralized river type drinking water source protection zones in the earth surface of Fengtai County are studied.Through condition analysis of the land and water areas in water source, according to the current Technical Guideline for Delineating Source Water Protection Area and related technical standards and documents, combined with the specific terrain features, this paper selects and establishes the model, set up the model parameters, analyzes regional water quality state of intake through the model, and discusses the situation of attenuation of ammonia nitrogen and other pollutants in the water source. The method of two-dimensional water quality model and analogy analysis method are respectively selected to study the river section discussed, and their results are compared. The research results are as follows:(1) The scopes of protection areas delimited according to the method of two-dimensional water quality model:the scope between1500m of intake upstream and100m of intake downstream of Fengtai Water Plant is delimited as the First Grade Protection Area; the water area of2000m from the upstream boundary of the First Grade Protection Area, the water area of200m from its downstream boundary, and the land area of1000m in depth including all river walls are taken as the Second Grade Protection Area.(2) The scopes of protection areas delimited according to the analogy analysis method:the water area of1645m of intake upstream of Fengtai Water Plant, water area of100m at downstream, and the scope of50m in depth of the coastwise land area are delimited as the First Grade Protection Area; the water area of3000m from the upstream boundary of the First Grade Protection Area, the water area of200m from its downstream boundary, and the scope of1000m in depth of the coastwise land area are taken as the Second Grade Protection Area.(3) Finally, after comprehensive analysis of the above two kinds of results, the delimitation of water source protection areas is confirmed as follows:the First Grade Protection Area includes the water area of1645m of intake upstream of Fengtai Water Plant, that of100m of its downstream, and the area within the whole riverway width; the depth of coastwise land area is50m, and the water quality management objective is class Ⅱ; the Second Grade Protection Area includes the water area of3000m from the upstream boundary, that of200m from the downstream boundary, the scope of1000m in depth of the coastwise land area; the water quality management objective is class Ⅲ, and there is no quasi-protection area.
