In recent years, the deep-hole-drilling has become increasingly difficult with more andmore issues, while the development of military industry, aviation industry, the market demand,and the processing of new materials becomes diversity. The importance of thedeep-hole-drilling technology is more and more prominent, which makes it becoming animportant branch of the equipment manufacturing industry. But some essential defects limitedthe development of the deep-hole-drilling, making it becomes a bottleneck in the developmentof manufacturing industry.The problem of chip removal is a classic trouble of the deep hole processing technology,and it is more prominent in the process of the small diameter holes (<10mm). Thenegative-pressure-apparatus has been successfully applied to BTA Deep Hole MachiningSystem, and improved the chip removal efficiency effectively. But the internal chip removalmachining system has some insurmountable limitations, like the small chip area, which makesit become more easy to lead to chip fault, when the hole length-to-diameter-ratio is larger. Sothe internal chip removal system is not suitable for the small diameter deep hole processing,which has more stringent requirements on the chip, oil pressure etc. Therefore, theoptimization of external-chip-removal system is a very important issue.This paper analyzes the problems of chip cooling in the gun drill processing, and putforward the corresponding method. This paper studied the feasibility and principle about theapplication of negative-pressure-apparatus in biaxial deep hole machining system, and built afluid model about the zone of negative pressure chip channel. Then, this paper validated themain parameters of the simulation experiment. Studies show that selecting the appropriateparameters of negative pressure can effectively alleviate the problems in outside chipremoving machining system.
