Hollow microspheres materials with special morphology and structure have drawn muchattention in recent years. Compared to solid microspheres materials hollow microspheres,which exhibit low density, high specific surface area and can accommodate guestmolecules due to the internal structure, have broad application prospects in biologicalmedicine, paint, electronics,catalysis, separation and many other fields. As the specialfunction of hollow microspheres gradually been recognized, the study of its preparationmethods are increasingly indepth, The preparation methods mainly include emulsion,suspension swelling, template, self-assembly method,deposition method, etc. The hollowmicrospheres of different materials including comprise polymer/inorganic compositematerial, inorganic materials and organic polymer materials can be prepared by differentmethods and using different materials.In this paper, PEG@Gd2O3:Tb3+, Gd2O3:Eu3+andPANI@ERGO composite hollow microspheres have been prepared using polymer (PS)microspheres as template, respectively. Furthermore drug release and electrochemicalproperties have been researched systmatic systematically.The main results are summarizedas follows:1. The PEG@Gd2O3:Tb3+hollow microspheres have been prepared adopting one-stephydrothermal method and characterized by XRD,SEM and TEM. In addtion, the formationmechanism and drug delivery performance have been also analyzed. The drug loading ofmicrospheres obtained is261.5mg/g and the release time is24h.The results of drugrelease properties show that the composite microspheres possess higher drug loading andlonger release time. 2. The Gd2O3:Eu3+hollow microspheres have been prepared using carboxylatedpolystyrene microspheres as template, followed by urea precipitation and calcination. TheXRD peak values are consistant with cubic phase of pure Gd2O3.Transmission electronmicroscopy and scanning electron microscopy images show that the average diameter ofthe hollow microspheres is about276nm and the thickness of the shell is about22nm.Morever, drug loading capacity is approxmately189.7mg/g and drug delivery time is up60h.3. Using polystyrene microspheres as template, PANI@ERGO composite hollowmicrospheres have been prepared successfully by swelling and ultrasonic irradiation.Themorphology and electrochemical properties of product have been characterized. The resultsof electrochemical performance test show that the composite hollow microspheres wouldhave excellent electrochemical performance. The capacitance is604F/g with92.02%ofthe initial discharge capacity of500cycles.
