With the deepening of research on vehicle, the demand for improving ride comfortincreases year after year. As the unique component connecting the vehicle body and the roadsurface, it plays an important role in attenuating the force transmitted from the road surfaceto the vehicle suspensions. In order to study the ride performance of the tire rolling over theuneven road, the researchers mainly simulate and analyze the nonlinearity and dynamicproperties when the tire rolls over obstacles. In order to research the mechanical propertiessufficiently when the tire rolls at low and high speeds, test is the basic approach of the tiremodel development, so special conditions of the tire are measured with the test equipment.Softwares can be also used to simulate and analyze the tire dynamic characteristics. Therefore, in this paper the tire dynamic characteristics and action mechanisms areresearched by the means of test and simulation, and the tire high-frequency dynamiccharacteristics is researched based on the finite element model (FE model). The maincontents include:1. Considering the influence factors of the tire dynamic properties, design the tire testsfrom three aspects, steady state, modal state and high-speed tests. Steady state test is mainlycompleted for obtaining stiffness in the radial, lateral and longitudinal directions when thetire rolls over the horizontal, and the stiffness in the vertical direction when the tire rolls overthe cleat. Modal state test is completed for obtaining the measurement of the radial, longitudinal and lateral modal characteristics under different tire pressures with the wheelcenter fixed. Pretest is conducted to find and solve the problems that may appear in the highspeed test. And then the test of rolling over obstacles at high speeds is conducted at differentrolling speeds, cleat sizes, tire pressures, loading parameters.2. High speed test is the main content of this paper. The conclusions by analyzing thehigh speed test data are as follows: in the time domain, the mechanical properties of the tirerolling over the cleat change regularly with the changes in tire pressure, loading, speed andcleat size. Then transfer the time-domain signals into the frequency-domain signals with themethod of fast Fourier transform (FFT). And conclude that in the longitudinal direction theforce response has significant signals around20Hz and80Hz, and in the vertical direction the force response has a significant signals around80Hz, by observing the amplitude-frequency characteristic curve.3. The amplitude-frequency characteristics of the tire in the frequency domain issimulated based on the FTire model. Identify the FTire model based on the attributeparameters obtained from the tire tests, and then observe the simulation results in thefrequency domain. At the same time, verify the predictive ability of the TTire withADAMS/Tire Testrig.4. Simulate the process of tires rolling over cleats using the FE software ABAQUS,then analyze the mechanical properties and action mechanisms when the tire rolls over cleatby combining the analysis of the tire test data.
