Drawdown area of reservoirs has become the current international hot issues in the field of ecology, hydrology and environtology, etc. And its ecological environmental management, development and utilization, and the corresponding protection and management are research emphasis. Zhejiang Province is rich in water resources and has built a large number of reservoirs, which bring huge economic and social efficiency. But at the same time, the cyclical fluctuation of reservoir water level and reservoir scheduling led to the formation of drawdown area, which flooded the large areas land of reservoir area and caused damage to the ecological environment of reservoir area. And it present the strong instability and ecological vulnerability, and is also easily to be polluted, directly affect the health of ecological environment and the development of economy and society. Therefore, it’s essential and urgent to carry out systematic research on drawdown area of reservoirs in Zhejiang Province, which has important theoretical significance and practical value for its governance, protection and management in the province-wide.However, there is no comprehensive report or survey research on the overall condition of drawdown area of reservoirs in Zhejiang Province by far. In this paper, the current condition of drawdown area of large and medium-sized reservoirs in Zhejiang Province, including its total area, land quality, geographic distribution, elevation distribution and ecological environment condition etc., are investigated roundly by the way of poring over documents, questionnaire survey, mail exchange and so on, and the situation of its all aspects are figured out. On the basis of above research, its overall condition and main problems are studyed through system analysis, analogy, quantitative and qualitative research, etc. Then combining with the engineering application carried out in Zhejiang and previous research achievements to provide theoretical direction and engineering suggestions, which are scientific and possess preferable feasibility and promotional value. All above study are for the effective governance of tis ecological problems, such as soil erosion, soil and water pollution and so on, and building management execution mechanism to meet the requirements of its protection and utilization. At last, the ecological function of drawdown area is restored, the ecological environment of reservoir area is improved, and the dynamic balance of ecological system and benign cycle of drawdown area in the utilization and protection are realized.
