Surface-enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) as an ultrasensitive detectiontechnology, is an ideal tool which is suitable for a variety of spices in the applicationof substance analyzing. Different Raman shifts in the Raman spectra represent theunique vibrational information of molecule. Therefore, the analytes can be determinedaccording to their characteristic Raman signal in the SERS spectra. Due to theadvantage of high sensitivity and high selectivity, SERS is widely used in many fields, such as food security analysis, pharmaceutical analysis, environmental pollutantmonitoring and so on. Based-on SERS technique, we developed correspondinganalysis methods for several common hazardous substances using SERS activesubstrates as the detecting platform:(1) We have developed a rapid analytical method for diquat determination by usingsilver mirror as SERS-active substrates. Formaldehyde was used as the reductant toreduce silver nitrate solution for the preparation of silver mirror. The detection systemwas easy to build. The method can realize fast analyzing for diquat. The lowestdetection concentration the method can reach is10-8mol/L, which is satisfied the lowdetection concentration required by rapid detection method.(2) Classical synthesis method was adopted to prepare silver sol and then the Agnanoparticles were assembled on the surface of hydroxylated glass to get SERS-activesubstrates, on which we developed a SERS analytical method for paraquatdetermination. The lowest detection concentration of10-9mol/L can be achieved. Therule about the highest content of paraquat in drinking water made by EPA is1.17×10-7mol/L. So this method can meet the requirement for analysis method.(3) The SERS detection method of melamine, cyanuric acid and melamine cyanuratewere set up on Ag nanoparticles assembled SERS-active substrates. By analyzing their Raman spectra and SERS spectra can we can get the fundamental data of thethree substances and use it as basic for the further detection.
