Water is took the place of single diluent in the waterborne UV ink which keeps the advantage of UV ink and avoiding some harms that single diluent makes people feels skin irritant, even causes skin allergy. So the waterborne UV ink has more advantage in environmental protection. Through the method of molecular design, the main structure of novel water-borne UV ink binders is confirmed and the synthesis technology is researched. The curing time is main evaluation index which is used to analysis and discuss the effect of water-based UV ink curing factors.In the experiment, phenol and formaldehyde are used as raw materials and sodium hydroxide is used as catalyst to synthetize multihydroxymethyl phenol sodium. The yield of multihydroxymethyl phenol sodium is evaluation index. The best synthesis condition is: n(phenol):n(formaldehyde)=1:3.5, reaction time is32h, reaction temperature at47℃, the content of sodium hydroxide is7%.With the Phase-transfer catalyst of tetrabutyl ammonium bromide(TBAB), multihydroxymethyl phenol sodium and acryloyl chloride are used to synthetize multihydroxymethyl phenol acrylate. The yield of multihydroxymethyl phenol acrylate is evaluation index. The best synthesis condition is:n(multihydroxymethyl phenol sodium): n(acryloyl chloride)=1:2, reaction temperature at0~-5℃, reaction time is2.5h, the content of TBAB is0.04%(mass ratio).N,N-Dimethylaniline is used as catalyst. SDS and op-10is used as emulsifier. multihydroxymethyl phenol acrylate and epichlorohydrin are used to synthetize epoxy multihydroxymethyl phenol acrylate, which is waterborne UV ink binders. The yield of epoxy multihydroxymethyl phenol acrylate is evaluation index. The best synthesis condition is: n(multihydroxymethyl phenate acrylate):n(epichlorohydrin)=1:1, reaction temperature at55℃, reaction time is4h, the content of emulsifier is0.05%(mass ratio).Through orthogonal design and analysis, the best proportion of waterborne UV ink is confirmed:epoxy multihydroxymethyl phenol acrylate50%, pigment35%, photoinitiator6%, acrylic latex8%, other additives1%. By univariate analysis, pre-drying of aqueous systems, pigments, photoinitiators, irradiation distance, the light curing time on the light-curing of water-based UV ink is analysised.
